How the College Admission Essay Service Works

  Step 1: Explore Our Coaches  

Students review bios of available writing coaches. Parents will focus on essay strategists’ qualifications, availability, track record, and hourly rate/ package fee for essay support. All coaches will be the same base rate of $300 with package price of $1,500 for 3 hours (personal statement) and 8 hours (supplemental essays).

College Match’s essay strategists are qualified to help each student produce the very best possible essays.

  Step 2: Purchase Your Coaching Package  

Crafting a standout college essay requires both creative vision and precise execution from brainstorming to final polish. Our coaching packages are designed to guide students through each step of the process with expert, one-on-one support.

Our goal is to ensure your student’s voice comes through with clarity, creativity, and authenticity so their essays stand out for all the right reasons.

 Step 3: Schedule Your Kickoff Session  

After purchase, students are prompted to book their first call with a writing strategist. Before the session, they’ll complete a short intake survey and select from available coach options.

Students can get on a writing strategist’s calendar within the same week of talking to a coach.

  Step 4: Meet With Your Coach  

Students meet one-on-one with their coach for scheduled sessions, beginning with a 15-minute introductory call. This call (by phone or Zoom) includes an overview of the essay support process and a realistic outline of the time commitment. Parents are encouraged to attend.

  Step 5: Write, Revise, and Complete Your Essay  

With expert guidance, students move through each stage of the writing process—from first draft to completion.

Students draft their essays in a shared Google document that remains open for ongoing editing. After adding new content, they email their writing strategist to notify them of updates. Strategists provide detailed, written feedback directly in the document, offering guidance on structure, voice, clarity, and content. Typical turnaround time for edits and revision suggestions is 24 to 48 hours.

This collaborative process continues until each essay is complete, refined, and aligned with the student’s authentic voice and overall application strategy.
